My name is Marissa Edelstein, and I am passionate about several business disciplines, specifically their intersection with technology. I am from Queens, New York and work in New York City.
I chose to enrich my academic journey by incorporating a finance concentration into my major in Management Information Systems. Recognizing the interconnectivity of technology and finance in today's business landscape, I'm driven by a desire to expand my skill set and deepen my understanding of financial principles. By blending my expertise in MIS with a strong foundation in finance, I aim to cultivate a holistic approach to problem-solving and decision-making in the dynamic world of business.
This decision proved invaluable when I secured an internship in the Financial Operations Department of ING Bank. Here, I had the opportunity to apply my MIS skills to organize financial data, streamlining communication to clients and enhancing operational efficiency. This hands-on experience reinforced the importance of integrating technology and finance, further fueling my passion for exploring the intersection of these disciplines.
In addition to my academic pursuits in Management Information Systems, Business Analytics, and Finance, I've also delved into the realm of digital marketing as a side hobby. Through self-guided exploration and hands-on experience, I've honed my skills using platforms like Canva to craft captivating visual content and marketing materials. From eye-catching social media graphics to engaging presentations, I enjoy leveraging my creativity to make an impact on my business fraternity as the Vice President of Marketing.
Building upon this foundation, I was able to bring together my marketing interests and technology expertise in my internship with Winston Retail's Information Technology department. Winston Retail, a provider of professional services, offers a range of solutions including field merchandising, creative solutions, and retail and pop-up operations.
In this role, I learned more about how technology can drive innovation and efficiency within the marketing sphere. By combining my diverse experiences and skill sets, I'm confident in my ability to make meaningful contributions and continue to grow both personally and professionally. This internship led to my first full time job as a Systems Analyst/Support Technician which I am currently working as.
I look forward to seeing where these professional and educational experiences take me in the future!
